The biggest asset to the process was that the guys at Studio Sløyd had access to a CNC-machine. They might have sketched by hand and probably did, however the way they proposed their ideas to us where through actual full scale CNC experiments in wood. We could talk about the actual presence of the object as opposed to the mere possibilities of an idea.This made the process quite fast and enabled us to decide with greater confidence.

In parallelle we had discussions with Ola Kukkasniemi and his crew at the Wooden workshop in Finland on how to design objects that could be machined at night with no human supervision in order to exploit their equipment to full extent. It all fell in place with the design from Studio Sløyd.
